This superb new Sustrans C2C cycle route passes through the counties of Lancashire (the red rose) and Yorkshire (the white rose) on a journey of 170 miles from west to east. Small market towns, high moorland roads and grand walled cities are all in store on this great C2C cycle route.
The Way of the Roses cycle route was signposted in late 2010 and takes you along stunning river valleys, high into the Yorkshire Dales, through towns steeped in history dating back to the Neolithic era and across ancient Viking battlefields. If you’ve already challenged yourself on the classic C2C and want another fantastic 3 days on the bike then this tour will not disappoint.
170 miles of carefully selected traffic-free cycleways and quiet rural roads enable you to cross from the town of Morecambe on the west coast, to Bridlington’s promenade in the east. With daily distances of over 50 miles and the occasional short but sharp ascents, this is a challenging but achievable undertaking in 3 days for any reasonably fit leisure cyclist.
What we provide is:
Three nights good accommodation
Luggage transfers each day, so you need only cycle with your daily snacks and toolkit
Pre-tour and on-tour advice and information
Return transport from the finish, plus shower room if required
As with our other popular C2C cycle tours we make best use of the weekend, so you arrive with us on a Thursday evening (except on some bank holiday weekends) and complete the ride on Sunday afternoon, when we transfer you back to your car for your journey home. Alternatively, if you travel by rail, we can have a rental cycle ready for you at Morecambe then collect it at the finish, where Bridlington station connects you right in to the east coast mainline at Doncaster.
With over 10 years of proven success with C2C holidays, the same recipe of organisation and service has been applied here to ensure that you get a truly memorable and enjoyable cycling experience.
