Sample Weekend – Skills and Freedom
Arrive at your selected guesthouse on Thursday evening and enjoy a good meal in a nearby pub, from our recommendations list of top local eateries. On Friday morning our guide will meet you as you finish your breakfast to discuss the day ahead. We’ll already have spoken to you about your biking level and what you want to achieve out of your day of instruction and guiding. After checking the bikes or setting you up on your rental bike, you’ll head out for a full day in The Lake District.
There are a huge number of trails to mix and match together, and our expert guide can flex each ride as the day progresses, to make it work for you. The day can simply be guided with a few coaching sessions on key areas such as core bike control skills, advanced braking for balance and confidence, riding on loose or slippery terrain, and so on. Alternatively it can be pure guiding or really focussed instruction – the choice is yours. We’ll select a great country pub or café for lunch, enjoy more trails in the afternoon, then get back to your accommodation at around 4pm.
The final part of the day will be time spent setting you up for two further days of free cycling, or walking, over the weekend. Now that your guide knows your interests and abilities he can mark up maps, give ideas and help you to shape two perfect further days of Lake District exploration. This keeps your costs down – by only having one full day of guiding service – but still lets you benefit from the best local knowledge to make your weekend a success.
We can offer full weekends or a week of guided biking and instruction, as well as a wide choice of places to stay in the south, central and northern Lake District. Every area has different types of biking and some wonderful places to stay – call us and we’ll guide you to the right venue and work out a package to suit your budget and your needs.
