There is nothing worse than hitting a jump or drop while being rigid on the bike and out of knowledge. Our jumps and drops mountain bike course aims to allow you to progressively learn the MTB skills needed to negotiate the many airtime features found on modern bike trails, through detailed skills sessions, while keeping you in control.
Structured progression is paramount with jump and drops, as the consequences are high if you run out of skill. Through different coaching methods we are great a pushing your ability, while maintaining control, so you leave the day excited to keep practicing.
This 1 day course teaches you the right skills in the right way, so you can eliminate the trial and error approach that most take when learning how to mountain bike.
Course Content
Manual front wheel lift
This is the gateway to floating your front wheel off any drop
Drop offs
Both slow speed and faster drops allowing for all features
Roll offs
maintaining a suitable, stable body position throughout
Tabletops
Aiming for the downslope, in control
Maintaining control in the air
Knowing what to do when you approach and hit a jump
Squashing and neutralising bumps
Sometimes flying through the air isn’t the best option
Pumping trail
Gaining speed and grip without pedalling

Age Limits
Minimum age 14. Any under 18’s needs to be accompanied by an adult who is also on the course
Grades
Fitness grade - 2
Moderate fitness from two or three sessions of exercise each week.
Skills Grade - B
Can ride with confidence on gravel tracks and trails, over loose stones and some rough ground.
