Night Leader Award - Bike Leadership

The Night Leader Award enables qualified British Cycling Leaders to expand their remit and confidently lead rides after dark. Designed specifically for current leadership award holders, this program builds on existing experience and introduces advanced techniques for planning and delivering safe, enjoyable night rides. You’ll learn how to manage visibility, lighting, group dynamics, and route considerations unique to low-light conditions.

Certification Benefits:

Once certified, you can lead rides in darkness on pre-ridden routes, giving your groups new opportunities to explore and ride beyond daylight hours.

Assessment:

You’ll complete an interactive e-learning module and a practical training day, where your leadership will be evaluated through tasks, discussion, and on-ride demonstrations in a supportive, expert-led environment.

CycleActive’s HQ at Brougham Hall, just outside Penrith, provides the ideal base for our course. Nestled on the edge of the Lake District and close to Lowther Castle and Askham Fell, the surroundings are unbeatable.
